Meat Grinder Plate Size Chart - My recollection is my kitchener #12 grinder has a smaller neck/throat opening than the #12 lem big bite i just ordered. It comes with 3 plates: I just had a thought come to mind while awaiting the delivery of my new (to me at least) meat grinder. I was wondering how long will the grinding knife last, say doing 220#s a year of meat grinding. I need to upgrade to larger grinder for next year. 3/16 (4.5mm), 10mm, & stuffing plate. I got lem #32 1.5hp grinder and the dual grind attachment.
If not which sizes are worth having? You may have to obtain that info from the maker of the grinder you are looking at buying. I need to upgrade to larger grinder for next year. I don't think the neck size openings are standard to the plate size.

I will grind 200 lb boxed beef from costco and brisket. As long as whole muscle is under 2x5. Without getting into all the gobbly goop about protein extraction and all that stuff, what size grinder plate is best for grinding pork in one pass for smoked sausage , the reason i ask is my new grinder came with 4.5 mm fine plate and i think it will bog down the grinder

Depending on what kind of sausage i'm making i prefer to use the biggest plate for the initial grind, then mix in all the spices & cure (if needed) & either use the med plate for italian sausage, breakfast sausage, etc. I need to upgrade to larger grinder for next year.
